400th Prakash Utsav of Guru Teg Bahadur to be held in Shimla on 19-20 June

The state level function to commemorate the 400th Prakash Utsav (birth anniversary) of Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, the ninth Guru of Sikh religion would be held at the Ridge, Shimla on 19 and 20 June, 2022.

Secretary, Language and Culture department Rakesh Kanwar chaired a meeting with the officers of various departments, Municipal Corporation Shimla and representatives of the Shri Guru Singh Sabha here today to review various arrangements for the function.

Rakesh Kanwar apprised that Guru Singh Sabha would extend invitation to Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and other dignitaries to attend the function.

He asked the district administration for arranging Pandal, lights and sound system for this occasion. MC Shimla was directed to set up welcome gates at various prominent places in the Shimla town. The Municipal Corporation has also been directed to ensure proper water supply, cleanliness and lightening of the historic buildings of the town. The transport department would ensure transportation facilities for the devotees visiting the state capital on this occasion from various locations in the state.

The Secretary also discussed law and order, parking facility, vehicle permits and other arrangements.

President, Guru Singh Sabha Jaswinder Singh said that the Sabha would organize Langar in the Padam Dev Complex.
