Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has thanked Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman and Minister of State for Finance and Cooperate Affairs Anurag Thakur for releasing an amount of Rs. 205 crore of GST compensation for the State and also for announcing Rs. 450 crore long term interest-free loan for 50 years to fund capital works in the state. The Union Finance Minister made this announcement on loans in a press conference held at New Delhi on Monday.
The Chief Minister said that the GST compensation amount and loans term loan to fund capital works would go a long way in accelerating the pace of development in the State. He said that the GST was implemented from July 2017 and since then the GST collection has witnessed regular growth in the State. He said that GST collection was being monitored at the highest level and laxity would be tolerated in this regard.
Industries Minister Bikram Singh Thakur while participating in the GST Council meet through video conference from Shimla also thanked the Union Finance Minister for this announcement.
Principal Secretary Excise and Taxation J.C.Sharma and Commissioner Excise and Taxation Rohan Chand Thakur participated the GST Council meet through video conferencing from Shimla.
