Government committed for balanced and all-round development of State: CM

The sole aim of the State Government was to ensure balanced and all-round development of the State with special focus on those areas which have remained neglected so far. This was stated by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while participating in the interactive session of ‘Khabrain Abhi Tak’ on Shining Himachal at Shimla, today.

Chief Minister said that the State Government was committed for overall and balanced development of the State for which several welfare and development oriented policies and programmes have been launched by the State Government. He said that the State Government has organised Global Investors’ meet which proved a mega success. He said that till date as many as 703 MoUs have been signed, which would attract investment worth Rs. 96000 crore. He said that Union Government provided Rs. 12 crore for organising Global Investors’ Meet. He said that the Government is endeavouring to perform ground breaking ceremony of projects over Rs 13000 crore on the occasion of completion of two year tenure of the State Government.

Jai Ram Thakur said that in the Jan Manch programme launched by the State Government as many as 43271 issues and grievances have received out of which over 88 per cent have been redressed. He said that going a step forward, the Government has launched Mukhya Mantri Sewa Sankalp helpline which has proved a boon to the people for speedy redressal of their grievances and various developmental issues. He said that the State Government has launched HIMCARE Scheme to provide health insurance cover to the families not covered under Ayushman Bharat Yojna launched by the Union Government. He said that till date as many as 43000 people have been provided financial assistance of Rs 42.35 crores.

Chief Minister said that the Government has also launched Himachal Grihini Suvidha Yojna to provide free gas connections to the left out families under Ujjawala Yojna from Union Government. He said that as many as 1.78 lakh people have been provided free gas connections. He said that the State is to become first State of the country to provide gas connection in every household.

Jai Ram Thakur said that the very first decision of State Government to lower the age limit of senior citizens to avail benefits of old age pension without condition of income limit from 80 years to 70 years  have benefitted over 1.30 lakh  senior citizens and now this facility was benefiting about 4.57 lakh senior citizens . He said that as many as 5.35 lakh people were being provided social security pension out of which 1.44 lakh persons were extended this cover during the tenure of the present State Government.

Chief Minister said that the biggest achievement of the State Government was to win the confidence of people of the State. He said that results of Lok Sabha elections and thereafter of bye elections of two assembly constituencies show the faith of people in the state government. He said that he has worked in the BJP from the grass root level with utmost dedication and commitment.
