Himachal Day organised in IITF 2019 at New Delhi

Himachal Day was organised in the Himachal Pavilion in the India International Trade Fair 2019 at Pragati Maidan today. Transport Minister Govind Thakur was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The fair began on 14th November and will conclude tomorrow.

Speaking on the occasion, Transport Minister said that state government is making sincere efforts to boost industrialization in the state and recently organised Global Investors’ Meet was a great effort in this direction which attracted many investors to state and investment worth more than 93 thousand crore will come to state. He said that this would also provide employment to youth of the state.

He said that economic growth rate and per capita income of state are higher than average of national rate and added that growth rate in manufacture sector of state is 12.5 percent and state exports its products to about 52 countries. He said that 30 percent of Asia’s medicines are being manufactured in Baddi Industrial Area and industries were doing well in light engineering, textile and cement sectors.  He said that at present 50,000 industrial units worth Rs 50,000crore are functioning in state which have provided employment to about 3,80,000 persons. He said that achievements of state have received recognition in education and health sectors and added that state got first position in the development indicators set by NITI aayog .

The Minister also visited various stalls put up by different departments of state government and non government organisations.

A colourful cultural programme was presented by popular Himachali artists.

State BJP President Satpal Singh Satti, Deputy Resident Commissioner Vivek Mahajan,  Industries department Joint Director Tilak Raj and other officers of Industries department, officers of other departments of state government, Himachalis’ residing in Delhi and people from all walks of life were present on the occasion.
