Agriculture, Tribal Development and Information Technology Minister Dr. Ram Lal Markanda today reviewed the power supply and road connectivity in tribal areas. Minister said that regular funds are being provided to Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) under Tribal Sub Plan for better power supply in tribal areas. He directed the HPSEBL officers to ensure regular power supply in tribal areas during coming winter season.
Regarding functioning of Rongtong Power House, Minister directed the HPSEBL to sort out the issue of ownership with Generation and Operation Wings of HPSEBL and the Director (Technical). He directed the authorities to resolve damage of intake for the Rongtong Power House before March, 2020.
Dr. Markanda directed the Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department (HPPWD) officers to make all efforts to keep the roads open during winter season. He also reviewed the construction of 106.330 KM long Attargu-Sagnam-Mudh-Bhaba road and construction of Leo-Bye pass road and Bridge. He emphasised on timely completion of these projects and said that with the completion of these projects, the distance between Shimla-Kaza will be reduced by 105 KM and an all weather road will be available to public of Kinnaur and Spiti valley.
During the meeting, HPPWD authorities assured the completion of Chango bridge by June, 2020 and linking of road by December, 2020.
