While addressing the “Abhinandan Samaroh’ held at historic Luhnu Ground in Bilaspur today to welcome National Working President of BJP Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, Chief Minister Shri Jai Ram Thakur said that it was a honour for this small state that such a huge responsibility was entrusted on a leader of Himachal Pradesh Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda to lead the BJP as it’s National Working President. He said that such an opportunity comes once in a life time when a leader gets chance to lead the biggest political party of the world.
Chief Minister thanked the people of the State for the landslide victory of the BJP candidates in the Lok Sabha Elections. He said that the BJP set a record in itself by winning in all the 68 assembly constituencies of the State in the Lok Sabha elections. He said that the vote share of the BJP was highest in the State in the Lok Sabha Elections. He said that the highest victory margin in term of vote percentage was also of BJP MP Shri Kishan Kapoor which is also from Kangra parliamentary seat. He said that it was due to this that the Nation today has a strong leadership in form of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He said that today India was poised to emerge as a world power under the dynamic leadership of Shri Narendra Modi.
Shri Jai Ram Thakur the State Government during this period has implemented several decisions which were bound to transform the economy of the people of the State. He said that Jan Manch programme launched by the State Government has been appreciated even by the political opponents.
He said that the Union Government had launched Ayushmaan Bharat Yojna for the people of the Country for providing insurance cover of Rs. 5 lakh. He said that as many as 50 crore people had been covered under this Scheme, which was ensuring that the poor patients were not deprived of specialised health care facilities due to lack of money. He said that the State Government was also implementing this Scheme effectively so that maximum people could be benefitted. He said that as many as 22 lakh people of the State had been covered under the Scheme. He said that the State Government has launched Him Care Scheme in the State to provide health insurance cover to those families who have been left out from Ayushmaan Bharat Yojna.
Chief Minister said that now the State Government has launched Chief Minister Helpline-1100 for online registration and redressal of public grievances. He said that AIIMS was coming up at Bilaspur which would ensure specialised health care facilities to the people of the State. Similarly, the very first decision of the State Government to lower the age limit of senior citizens for availing old-age pension without any income criteria from 80 years to 70 years have benefitted over 1.30 lakh senior citizens, he added.
National Working President BJP Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda while thanking the people of the State for according him rousing welcome during his maiden visit to the State after being made Working President of the BJP, said that today the membership of BJP has roused to 17.50 crore from 11 crore in the month of July. He said that the membership of BJP in the State has also increased, which shows the faith of the people in the BJP.
Shri Nadda said that world has acknowledged the strong and able leadership of India and it was under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi that Article 370 was abrogated from Jammu and Kashmir, thereby paving the way for One Nation, One Constitution. He said that this Article was indeed a beautiful guest hurdle for development of Jammu and Kashmir. He said this also paved the way for uniform law throughout the country thereby connecting the Kashmir into the mainstream. He said that Triple Talaq was yet another historic decision which had ensured empowerment of Muslim women. He said that Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna was being implemented in the Country to ensure social security of the farmers.
National Working President BJP said that the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojna has not only ensured conservation of environment but also provided relief to the women, particularly in rural areas by providing them free gas connection. He said that nation has changed under the able leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He said that Shri Modi changed the concept of politics and ensured that politics should be aimed at serving the Nation and its people. He said that India was poised to emerge as New India as BJP has become synonyms with development.
Shri Nadda said that the present BJP Government in the State under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Jai Ram Thakur has initiated several developmental works. He said that several schemes have been launched by the State Government and the Centre Government was providing wholehearted support to the State Government for its developmental endeavours.
Former Chief Minister Shri Prem Kumar Dhumal said that the BJP was poised to progress by leap and bound under the able leadership of Shri J.P.Nadda.
State BJP President Satpal Singh Satti said that Shri Nadda ever since his student days has held several offices in different capacities and always proved his mantle.
Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Shri Anurag Thakur while welcoming the National Working President of BJP said that it was an honour of the people of Himachal Pradesh that Shri J.P.Nadda was made the Working President of BJP, the biggest political party of the world. He said that today India has emerged a strong and vibrant nation under the charismatic leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He said that the Union Government has simplified tax procedure in the country thereby benefitting crores of tax payers.
